[11] A drink with your name on it

Ask for the same drink a few times and it might come back to you with your name attached. “Pollyaide” is Lemon Citron, lemonade and a splash of cranberry juice. Co-owner Todd Cummings is one of the nicest guys in town and has made Oblios the choice of locals.

There is a great history write up on Oblios that puts the bar at the apex of Oshkosh past, present and definitely future. From the Schlitz Beer Garden to the Oblios of today, each generation of residents and students has put their finger prints on what makes it special. Everyone who walks through the door belongs here and everyone has been here.

This is not a college bar, a town bar, a yuppy bar, a pick up joint, a power base or a sports mecca, it is a little of all of them. The main bar looks a lot like it did at the turn of the century, a long, heavily finger oiled piece of wood with taps of every flavor. The lighting is low but usable for reading the Scene. Through the back is a couple of video games and a pool table.

The wall next door has been blown through to double the space. A small stage holds three tables in the picture window, great for people watching. A small bar, more tables and a shuffle board make this room more group friendly.

Hidden in the back of the room, behind a door is a quiet little space with another bar, a few tables, a big leather couch and a fireplace to make the room the perfect place to have a beer and conversation.

Oblios’ hosts bands and djs on a regular basis, but it is the atmosphere that keeps drawing everyone back.
